Hello world!
Today I join the blog world! It’s like outer space only bigger. The word blog actually reminds me of something out of a Dr. Seuss book, A Dog named Blog!
Here’s the quick and dirty – I produce and develop Web content, graphics and editorial, for The Colorado Vacation Directory. The site promotes Colorado tourism for accommodations and activities statewide. Originally I was employed to develop map illustrations for popular activities and help with basic site maintenance. Now, I am currently working to complete production of a content management system in PHP.
I am far more excited about graphic work – advertising, interface and photos, but that’s not always the highest priority. I intend to delve further into visual mode with more time in the near future. To keep fresh I spend a fare amount of time drawing and studying art. I have created a handful of logos, designed a couple Websites and some promotional materials over the past 4 years. However, the past several months I have been working on the self promotion theme, resume and portfolio.
More important than my work, I spend time with my Wife and 3 beautiful children. There’s nothing like having your ears ‘chewed off’ by a 2 and a 4 year old. The youngest is 9 months and requires complete supervision, it’s nice that they’ll eat anything save the choking hazard. I want to savor all I can while they’re young. A wise individual once stated to me, “Life’s like a roll of toilet paper, it goes faster at the end!”
